The Big “Little” Business Vendor Event

On Saturday, April 20 at McMillan Park Community Center up to 100 black businesses will be showcased in the My “Little” Big Business Vendor event. This is the 3rd time that Richard Phillips through his businesses, Tunnel Vision and Simplicity Books, has hosted this sort of Black business convention. Over the last several years he has done one in Fort Wayne, one in Indianapolis and now again in Fort Wayne.

Through his Tunnel Vision business, he sports others with brand development in addition to many other community outreach programs over the years such as his annual turkey drive, back to school and Christmas giveaway events.

On the brand development side, he encourages others to focus on exposure and marketing and uses the phrase, TOMA, which means top of mind awareness for consumers to always be thinking of your brand when they say they need glasses, shoes, clothes, an event planner and more. With that, he dreamed that this event would be able to support black businesses in the community to get more exposure and marketing in a way that is cost effective as a vendor at a big event showcasing many other businesses in our community. He looks at this as a way to join together for the greater good of the Fort Wayne community and a way for us all to support each other. This year's event is sponsored by his two businesses plus Walmart and Home is Where the Heart Is. The event will feature 100 vendors, the Music Lovers Lounge DJs, entertainment and food.

It is $7 at the door to get in and will take place on Saturday, April 20 at the McMillan Park Community Center from 12-6pm. Some of the many vendors involved have clothing, medical, eye care, music and so much more. Most businesses are from the Fort Wayne area but there are a few from surrounding places like Indianapolis, South Bend and Ohio.
