Never Say Goodbye-Sofee Sophia
By Tabitha Ervin,
Editorial Director
Sophia, born and raised in Fort Wayne is an accomplished stage and screen playwright, business woman, director, actor and now author of the new book Never Say Goodbye. We were able to chat recently and I’ve been able to get through most of her new book!
Ervin: So tell me when you became a writer?
Sophia: Well, I procrastinated for a long time and then I finally just did it! I have always had vivid ideas and thoughts in my head and so I started writing them down. I believe it's my God given talent and I’ve always been pretty creative. I have written and produced several stage plays in various cities but this is my first book. I have lived in Chicago and Atlanta and now Indianapolis. When I was in Chicago I was able to executive produce a children's production called Dreams. I’ve also written songs and music for some of my stage plays. The stories just play in my head and I write them down as that happens.
Ervin: That’s great and I am really enjoying the book! Is it fiction?
Sophia: Yes, it's fiction! People keep asking me that but I did take some real ideas and manipulate them a little for the story. It's my first book but I definitely plan to write more. I think this one will be a small series.
Ervin: Yes, I saw the mention of Fort Wayne in there so I was curious.
Sophia: All fiction!
I am a CNA but my passion is theater and movies as my mind continues to create new stories.
Ervin: Thanks for sharing so what's next for you?
Sophia: I would like to come back to Fort Wayne in a few months to do a book signing. When I do it, I want a percentage of the sales to go back into a local organization in the community. I will be working on the details so stay tuned!
Also, people can purchase the book on Amazon currently for $20 and I can be contacted by phone at 773-757-3176.
Ervin: Thanks and I look forward to more books! I recently read over half of it while i was out of town and enjoyed it very much!
Never Say Goodbye - 198 pages
Make sure to check out this book featuring main character George who goes from a troubled childhood to owner of a company yet hasn’t dealt with his personal demons. He handles conflict in an extreme way which sometimes involves the police. This book is well written and easy to read but gives some good twists and turns which keep the pages flipping.
