Giving Flowers- Community Celebration of Cydney Bridges

On Saturday evening, March 23, the community celebrated Miss Indiana, Cydney Bridges. In front of a standing room only crowd, Regenia Jones, a local business owner who has known Cydney since she was in elementary along with Councilwoman Michelle Chambers were the hosts.
The event featured an opening by Mayor Tom Henry who congratulated Cydney along with a few community leaders and various community organizations that she participated in growing up including SheekriStyle Academy and Unity Performing Arts Foundation. There were also performances of music and dance plus several videos highlighting positive messages honoring Cydney and her journey to becoming the Miss America 2nd Runner Up. Cydney was escorted to the event in style by the Fort Wayne’s Corvette Club. Emilia Miles, who told stories of she and Cydney together participating in dance as youth MC’ed the program. Many community members participated and volunteered to bring this wonderful event to life.
At the end of the program Cydney shared her story about the journey to the Miss America stage and her time there with attendees.
Cydney closes her journey as Miss Indiana in June.
She will continue working as a nurse at Riley hospital while staying connected to the pageant world.
