Local Govt. Officials (& Familiar Faces) Sworn In, Already Working When: December 31, 2018

Newly-elected Adams Township Trustee Denita Washington and returning Allen County two-time councilwoman Sharon Tucker were among local government officials who were sworn in during a midday ceremony at the Allen County Courthouse on New Years Eve. The brisk 25-minute ceremony also marked the retirement of notable officials from key positions, including Superior Court Judge John Surbeck and Judge Stanley Levine and former county commissioner, an absent Linda Bloom, who did not seek re-election.
As announced via a Facebook video, Tucker will run for the retiring Glynn Hines’ 6th District seat in this year’s municipal election. As noted from her Facebook video, Tucker’s layered goals include strengthening racial and ethnic relations in the district, as well as attracting businesses and spurring economic development.
