Rest in Peace: DeMarcus Walker

DeMarcus Walker, 44, the Fort Wayne man who was beaten with a baseball bat while leaving the Apple Glen Walmart on March 7, 2020, died from his injuries on April 11.

Speaking with FOX 55 news channel, DeMarcus’s father commented on his son’s passing. “I’m hurt. Hurt real bad. As a father, this hurts. Losing my son. This is my second son I lost in three years."
As reported in the Fort Wayne Ink Spot, as well as in other media outlets, the Walker family believe the attack, by 21-year-old Levi Arnold, to be a hate crime.

According to reporting by WANE 15, the police is waiting until the coroner’s report comes out to determine if additional charges will be made since Walker is now deceased.
