Food and Cleaning Products Giveaway at the Euell A. Wilson Center
The six local Greek organizations that make up the Greater Fort Wayne National Pan-Hellenic Council (listed in the photo caption) partnered with the Euell A. Wilson Community Center, 1512 Oxford St., to distribute FREE nonperishable food items and cleaning supplies. Wilson Center founder Ms. Shirley Woods said future events are planned, if the donations continue to come in and “if the need is there. And the need is great.”
75 baskets were distributed to 75 families (including supplies for seniors). On her partnership with the Greek organizations, Wood stated: “It’s an opportunity to do things together and meet the needs in our community.”
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization of historically African-American, international Greek lettered fraternities and sororities. The Greater Fort Wayne NPHC was chartered on Sunday, April 19, 2020. The Saturday event was the group’s first (of many) collaborations in the community.
