Euell A. Wilson Community Center
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. makes it their mission to financially support and help serve Thanksgiving dinner to the Euell A. Wilson Community Center every November.
This year, The Greater Fort Wayne National Pan-Hellenic Council was asked to participate with their efforts. Assisting with set up, serving Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins, and helping with clean up, held us accountable to our mission of service for this annual holiday event. Well supported by 5 of the Divine 9 organizations, we worked together to get the maximum (5+ each) support at all of the serving stations. We served approximately 125-150 people at the center that evening.
The event took place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5-7 p.m.
We are hoping to make this service project an annual tradition in our community.
Black Panther Wakanda Forever
Several local groups welcomed the new Wakanda Forever movie by hosting showings. The Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc sold out a theater to a variety of movie goers including a group of one dozen students from Wayne High School who were hosted by another local organization, The Fort Wayne Chapter of the Links Incorporated. Many in the group donned African attire or Marvel gear representing the Black Panther. Way to go Fort Wayne for supporting the opening weekend of the movie!
Union Street Market Opening!
The community is excited as the market opens this week! The Union Street Market has different hours for the West Hall and East Hall and all information can be found on both Facebook and Instagram along with the website: Unionstreetmarket.org
Also a Holiday Artisan Market will be hosted each of the next several weekends on Saturday and Sunday from November 26-December 18 where patrons can find and shop unique wares for the holiday along with food vendors being available.
