Phones are the future of the world. Instead of trying to block them out, why don't we adapt?

Students use technology to improve their well-being and enhance their interactions with the world.

Cellular devices keep students safe, improve students’ education, and will continue to be essential tools in our society’s future.

The more common cellular devices become, the more our environment and community will change. A study found that 92% of American teens go online daily. This increases to 94% for teens with access to cellular devices (Should Cell Phones…). The more advanced the technology around us becomes, the more it can teach us. Kids and teens are becoming more flexible using technology and are learning from it. Parents and guardians are buying their kids’ cellular devices to teach them the ways of adulthood. Nearly 75 percent of teens have access to a smartphone; with open Wi-Fi networks in schools, libraries, and at home, staying connected is effortless (Should Cell Phones…). Knowing this, should the school districts allow phones?

Meanwhile, teachers can use phones to help educate and have fun in classes. Brian Toth, the superintendent at Saint Mary School District, said, “Educators in my schooling system use cellular devices like cell phones, tablets, laptops and more to educate the youth by playing Kahoots, scavenger hunts, and games. Not only to educate but to check the understanding and well-being of these students” (Jovana).  The teachers should use cellular devices as a tool instead of restricting them. One proven fact is that cell phones in school can help accelerate a student’s learning. Students involved in social outlets like sports or clubs are able to excel in the classroom. Engaging virtual social tools can have that same effect and help students and teachers stay engaged in a classroom environment (Jovana).

In addition, cellular devices bring a feeling of safety to students and teachers.  72% of secondary aged students walk home or stay after school and need a way to contact a parent or guardian. What if something went wrong? If there is no cellular device in hand it can take time until someone finds the right help. Compared to someone with a cellular device you can call someone in seconds to find help or safety. What about their personal life outside of a classroom? Most teenagers and teachers set up important appointments, alarms, social activities, and more on their cell phones. The restriction of cellular devices could make a student or teacher miss something important.

In conclusion, cellular devices keep students safe, improve students’ education, and will continue to be essential tools in our society’s future. The future of today’s world is cellular devices and these devices will improve students' education and keep everyone safe. Cellular devices can bring improvement to the education system and environment. It is changing the way we interact with our world. We should look more at the good things, because this could change everything about the world today.
