FALLing for Family and Fun!

Fall - Family - Fun, my favorite season for fun festivities with my family, is here! Every September and October, I enjoy frequenting pumpkin patches, carving and painting pumpkins, hayrides, and attending the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis. However, there is one fall activity that I never really enjoyed and that is going to haunted houses! I am scared of my own shadow and crawling insects, but I do like petting snakes! Go figure!
I do enjoy watching kids come to our house to Trick or Treat! Dressing in their favorite character is their way of expressing themselves and their creative personalities. I enjoy asking them about how they decided what to wear on October 31st. It reminds me of all my favorite costumes and why I picked my costume months in advance. I will always cherish childhood memories of Halloween and I have pictures to remind me of my fun! I kept my favorite costumes and passed them on to my four year old cousin who LOVES Halloween. She already sent me pictures of her in her spider-girl wear!
The moderately cool temperatures, the colorful leaf scenery, while enjoying hot cider and fixing s’mores around an open fire always excites me! FALL also reminds me to accept change. Accepting the change in temperature, accepting that our flowers will die, accepting the trees to be full of colorful leaves, then becoming bare, and accepting that the days will become shorter as we lose daylight is all a part of life. The time will soon change. The seasons will change. We will go from being barefoot to boots, wearing shorts to sweaters, and halters to hoodies.
As we approach FALL, I wish for you to embrace all of the changes that will come with FALL. May you continue making lifelong memories with your family and friends.
Fall in Love with FALL!
