Monique Moss, also know as “Mo in the Morning” hails from Indianapolis and has been blessing our airwaves here in Fort Wayne for two years on Rhythm and Praise, our city’s online gospel station.

I recently connected with Monique about her recent accomplishment of winning Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 40 under 40, Class of 2020, which is an award given annually to 40 individuals that are under 40 years old in our community doing great work. This year had an unprecedented number of entries.

As a winner myself last year, it was not only an honor to chat with Monique but also welcome her to the small group of African American leaders in Fort Wayne who have received this award.

Monique works 6 – 10 am each morning and is not only a host and emcee of her own show but also the Program Director for the station. As the Program Director, she also supports many other tasks and assignments at the station such as scheduling music and representing the station at local church events and community events. Monique graduated from the University of Indianapolis with Bachelor of Science with a concentration in electronic media and communications. Prior to moving to Fort Wayne, Monique worked at a radio station in Indianapolis doing promotions and community work, which she loves.

Monique’s personal mission is to encourage and connect with listeners and bring hope to the community of Fort Wayne. Not only did she receive the award from Business Weekly but also been featured in Fort Wayne magazine’s “30 Cool Creatives Under 30”.

Monique wants to continue her work in media, building relationships and connecting with the community. She is very involved in volunteer work through various organizations such as the Young Leaders Professional Group that focuses on black excellence and recently helped with the community Black Ride for Black Lives event. She also has been a volunteer basketball coach and gives of her time to City Life for Girl Talks along with being a speaker at various events.

I was honored to interview this young star and look forward to more great work from her in our community and beyond! Congrats Mo!
