Legacy One

Linda Golden and her company LegacyOne Real Estate & Contracting, which you’ll read more about in our black girl magic section, broke ground on March 3, 2022 on their new office building, Legacy Office Centre in the area of Southtown next to Menards.

Linda grew up on the south side and is excited to continue to invest in this community. Growing up she's not sure what she wanted to be but told me she never knew she’d be doing this even when she retired from nonprofit work and got her real estate license. She previously started a nonprofit through her church in 1988 for homeless families and people with addictions which was her calling from God she says.

Growing up on Leigh St, she always loved her community and felt connected. She loves the south side and feels that those leaders in the community who are connected and have the means should help out and lead the change. “The south side is unique with diversity and it's very easy to get around but we have at times been neglected and we have some catching up to do”, says Golden. She believes that God gives vision and he gave this one to her for his purpose to be in a place of service to the community. The 6,000 square ft. Legacy Office Centre will have their own office spaces plus a few offices available for lease as well as a multipurpose space that will be available to the public sometimes for meetings, baby showers and even small birthday parties. The anticipated open date will be in about 6 months or fall this year.

Golden also has a future housing project on her mind which will include 66 single family homes that will be on Hessen Cassel Rd. and will also serve families on the south side.

As we have featured her along with others in our Black Girl Magic section, she told me that since the ground breaking which was on the news and in various papers, people have been stopping her in stores having recognized her from the publicity of the project and it really makes her feel good and proud because it means so much to our community!

Linda, we are proud of you and excited as you push forward in this new endeavor and we look forward to when you open the doors to the Legacy Office Centre!
