The Root Cutter
It Gets Better After This!
By LaCrystele Brown
During a time when many of us were afraid to leave our homes and unsure of what would happen next, Cedric W. Williams shared that same panic and turned to God. While helping his wife with their daughter and the upkeep of their home, Cedric found himself constantly praying and doing some self-reflection. Once he started therapeutic journaling and shared it with his best friend, they realized he had a story that could help others. This was a story that could not only serve as a guide to building up your relationship with God and your confidence, but also a story that could quite frankly cut off generational curses at the root.
It Gets Better After This! Is a memoir by author and Fort Wayne native Cedric W. Williams. Williams currently resides in Clarksville, TN with his wife and daughter. A licensed minister, Williams makes sure to keep God in his life with everything he does. Williams first knew he wanted to be a writer when he was in the fourth grade. He was selected to go to the young authors conference at Northrop High School after writing a series of short stories for class. Up until the pandemic Williams had lost sight of his passion for writing books and stories, however he did write and record gospel music during this time.
Inspired by the pandemic and the realization that he had a lot of unforgiveness within his heart, Williams journaling started and later, It Gets Better After This! Overcoming Low Self-Esteem and Bullying to Discover Your Hidden Treasure was born! Williams hope is that the title will grab readers attention in a way that lets them know that no matter what their “THIS” is, it will get better once you overcome the situation and heal!
When reading It Gets Better After This! we will go on a journey with Williams where he helps you overcome the following: physical and emotional abuse, name calling, the bait of intimidation and even false perceptions. From childhood to adulthood, we will read how Williams perseveres through the good, the bad, and the ugly in life in a way that mentors to both teenagers and their parents. The goal is to help readers through building their faith with affirmations, scripture, and sharing personal stories with practical and relatable solutions for those who are feeling down or like they just need a guide to finding themselves. This book has the potential to start those hard conversations that families shy from, cut centuries worth of generational curses off at the root, save the life of someone who is one bad day away from destruction, and undoubtedly make the world a better place!
