When tribute bands for The Rolling Stones and The Beatles square off at the Arts United Center, in a musical donnybrook titled “Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown,” they will be accompanied by four talented Snider High School Panthers. The string quartet will perform seven songs with The Rolling Stones tribute band, Satisfaction, and The Beatles’ tribute foursome, Abbey Road.
The Fort Wayne leg is one stop of a 125-city tour for the Showdown; the tour hires a local quartet to compliment the show at every destination.
Snider High School’s quartet includes 15-year-old Trinity Forish, who’s been playing the violin for five years, 16-year-old Gabi Anderson, who stuck with the violin after being told she was a natural, 15-year-old Larry McDowell, who has earned gold ratings three times as a soloist and ensemble festivals with the viola, and 18-year-old Ramie Kuhns, who is a member of the Purdue University Fort Wayne Community Orchestra.
“Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown” comes to the Arts United Center on June 27 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $45-$65 and may be purchased by phone at (260) 424-0646, at the Theatre Box Office or online at www.Tickets.ArtsTix.org. The show is appropriate for all ages.
