Lizzo, GoldLink & Tunde Olaniran Coming to Middle Waves 2018 When: May 31, 2018

Fort Wayne’s own Middle Waves Music Festival announced its 2018 lineup for the two-day event that will be held again at Headwaters Park, starting Friday, September 14, 2018.
2018 marks the festival’s third year in existence. The eclectic mix of 25+ performers will entertain on three stages, two of which are free.
The black artists set to perform no doubt embody that eclecticism.
Friday night headliner, GoldLink, is a hip-hop artist described by Rick Rubin as “connecting progressive rap styles with cutting edge dance music; he bridges the electronic DJ culture with hip-hop in a way we haven’t heard before.”
“GoldLink and Saturday night performer Lizzo are both nominated for BET awards (Best New Artist and Her Award, respectively).” Middle Waves Marketing Chair Jasmine Bejar said.
Lizzo’s single “Good As Hell” has been streamed more than 3.5 million times on YouTube.
Also performing on September 15, singer, songwriter, and Nigerian-American social activist Tunde Olaniran, a Flint, Michigan resident, recently penned an op-ed letter in the Washington Post about the city’s continued water crisis. “I think Tunde Olaniran is going to be the wild card,” Bejar said. “We know he puts on an amazing show, but he’s just on the rise, so not many people have heard of him yet,” Bejar said.
