A Unique Back to School Drive When: August 12, 2018

There’s a movement in Fort Wayne to educate, empower and enlighten the young girls and young boys in Fort Wayne. 

The Emmary Butler Foundation has partnered with nonprofit Girlz Rock and Expectations Salon for a unique back to school drive. The day was be filled with education, pampering, and empowerment for 40 students.

Students received free haircuts, an academic conversation to assist them with their academic goals, and a book bag with school supplies to start the school year.

Expectations Salon is located at 923 North Crest Business Center D8, Fort Wayne, IN 46815

Volunteers included:

Hair Stylists: Aminah Rosa, owner of Salon, Larissa Williams, Whitney Eatmon, Niyoka Moore, Dondra Campbell, Juanita Collins  Barbers: Anthony Washington, Jerrell L. Davenport, Juan D. Williams, Trey Cato, Ms. Paige  Makeup Artists: Moriah Taylor and Shi James. Jewelry Designer: Cherish Bosley

The event was co-sponsored by Girlz Rock and Pace To Success, a program of the Emmary Butler Foundation.
