Black Business Card Party Part III Jan 10
The Black Business Card Party is a networking event that is specifically designed to connect aspiring professionals with experienced professionals within the African-American community. It gives up and coming black professionals an opportunity to further their career by networking and learning from seasoned professionals in a variety of professions.
Together with Big Brothers Big Sisters, this annual event is in its third year. Guests are encouraged to consider becoming a “Big” by mentoring a child in the community through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. By adding this element to the event, it meets Zachary Briggs vision of economic growth in the Black community coming full circle through mentorship on all levels. Gain, grow…and give.
Briggs, owner of Visual Prime Studious, is committed to making sure this event continues in our city. “I continue to do this event because I believe it is our best response to inequality. Tyler Perry once said ‘Hollywood wouldn’t give him a seat at the table, so he created his own!’ By creating wealth within our community, we create professional advancement opportunities for ourselves...where we once had to ask for it.”
This fun event is filled with live music, great food, networking and includes a live Q&A Panel of successful entrepreneurs and professionals that give business tips as they share their experience on their journey to success. This year’s panel included Fort Wayne Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implant Center’s Dr. Mulokozi Lugakingira, JBC Companies’ owner Wes Jackson, F.W. City Council’s Michelle Chambers, and Dr. Lorenzo Sutter from Dupont Hospital.
Briggs works with a team of people who all focus on making this a successful event each year!
