Michael Johnson

Local artist and DJ (PupLuv is his moniker) recently held an art show, “The Art of Strollin” as an ‘od to the local Black Greek Organizations. The show was open to the public and featured over 30 new pieces by Mike and an opportunity to paint for all members of the Divine 9. The event was well attended and Mike looks forward to a few upcoming art shows this summer. He has been painting, doing art, DJ’ing and taking pictures for over 20 years in the Fort Wayne community. For the first time in his art career, he is offering prints of his work which can be purchased online in addition to his original works which can also be ordered. Fort Wayne Housing Authority

The Fort Wayne Housing Authority recently received a grant award of $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Labor for the YouthBuild program. This will create many opportunities for youth in the Fort Wayne community. Education opportunities, job training, hands-on experiences. The next 40 months are going to be a game changer for many.

Scholarships Awarded

3 local sororities recently awarded scholarships to local students as they head to college. The local Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc Chapter Eta Upsilon Zeta held a Day Party Saturday, May 21 for the community to attend where they honored 6 high schoolers who are headed to various colleges. Way to go Malia Smiley, JaKaylah Rich, Toriano Franklin, Jade Booker, Joanna Joshua and Sarina Wright.
