FWCS School Board Elections

Maria Norman was recently
re-elected to the FWCS school board and will serve as the President for this 4 year term. Rholi Booker was also elected and will serve as the Vice President. The community is excited and proud of these two women of color as advocates for public education in our community! Job well done ladies!

37th Annual Unity Day Celebration

The 37th Annual Celebration took place at Sweetwater from 10-2pm. All day people were able to participate in the program which included a proclamation by the Mayor, a variety of presentations and awards given to community members: Erick Baker, Tomi Cardin and Jenee’ Johnson along with scholarship presentations by the MLK Club. Participants were also able to visit well over 25 vendors from our Fort Wayne Community. Congrats to the MLK Club on another successful event!

Community Mental Health Talk

The Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc held two Sharing Hope discussions both with different topics on mental health awareness. There was a great turnout at each session and the discussion was much needed. More to come in the spring for a community wide event!
