1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus".
Being thankful is important because it can benefit you in several ways:
• Your happiness, health, relationships, & contentment can reduce stress and anxiety.
• Help you feel more positive.
• Give you a greater outlook on life.
• Impact your health by sleeping more peacefully and falling asleep faster.
• Help you build strong relationships with people you would have never thought you could connect with.
• Help you feel less envious toward other people.
• Help you to face the everyday challenges that come with life.
By acknowledging what is important to you in life, it will help you realize that you have many reasons to be thankful. Being thankful for basic everyday needs that we all take for granted are our health, our family, our friends, our freedom, and our faith is important.
I am thankful that I know God and I know He supplies all my needs, and for that I am grateful. My family is a source of stability and happiness in my life. They offer unexplainable love, support, a sense of belonging, and are they are there through life's difficulties, offering guidance, encouragement, and a safe space to be myself.
Developing an attitude of thankfulness will benefit your physical and emotional well-being and health. Keeping a daily journal and recording your blessings should be a daily practice, not just at Thanksgiving. If you include any people in your journaling, write a personal letter on why you are thankful that they are in your life. I encourage you to write to someone you love and are thankful for or who has had an impact in your life. This will make them feel very appreciated. Who are you thankful for?
