December!

December!

It’s December! That either makes you happy to enter the last month of the year and to usher in holidays including Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, New Year’s Eve and anything else you may celebrate this month or not so happy.. Either way, we are here!

Typically the weather gets colder, it has already started, and we even begin to get some snow. The days seem shorter as the sun rises early unless it's cloudy and the sun goes down before we even hit 6pm making it feel later than it is each day.

Nothing else about our days change though. We still have our daily routines of work, school and extracurriculars to maintain despite the colder weather and lack of daily sunshine.

I encourage and urge you to use the next few weeks to think, pray, reset, plan or reboot for the coming year of 2025.

If you set goals, start thinking of those. Quarterly, I set goals at work and prior to that I spend time looking at what I’ve accomplished, what’s next for those goals and anything else I need to spend my time on for the up and coming quarter. This process has taught me discipline, focus and honestly it’s helped me get a lot more completed both big and small tasks and assignments. There is also space for thinking big, dreaming and spending time on new ideas as well as challenges that may arise. I give myself space and flexibility to meet challenges head on and adjust as needed.

How will you get focused for next year? What do you need to do to get more focused and start accomplishing more of your goals?

Now is the time to contemplate and set yourself up for success.

It wouldn’t hurt to check out some books or podcasts on goal setting. Also seek out wise counsel, maybe a mentor or coach to help you think through how to do what you want to accomplish.

Whatever you decide, keep moving forward! The world needs you and the talents you were created to pour out into this environment. Go on and be great!
