It’s December! That either makes you happy to enter the last month of the year and to usher in holidays including Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, New Year’s Eve and anything else you may celebrate this month or not so happy.. Either way, we are here!

November is Prematurity Awareness Month, a time to shine a global spotlight on the pressing challenges of maternal and infant health across the United States, including right here in Allen County. Each year, 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely in Allen County, a staggering figure that highlights the urgent need for greater awareness and action.

The Volmead Youth Leadership Program from South Africa in partnership with The Indiana Center for Middle East Peace led by Dr. Michael Spath is coming to the United States for a tour called Drumming for Unity & Healing.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I did a little research on the history and background of the month. Many of us know or have been personally affected by this disease for many years now. Locally, the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is Saturday, October 26 at Parkview Field.

Since childhood outside forces have been influencing us. These experiences shape our mindset as we get older. A factor we don’t consider is how our money mindset was influenced by people & situations in our past. Our money mindset is also heavily determined by our childhood.

I pray that we all celebrate someone one whether it be our mother who has gone on, our mother who is still with us or any motherlike figures in your life who may have provided guidance, love or support within your life’s journey. This day can either provide joy or sadness, it can provide hope or despair.

Vaping is the new cigarette for teens. The nicotine inside of these vapes is detrimental to not only physical health but mental health as well. These effects are more harmful than helpful. Bringing awareness to these mental health effects can help teens stop vaping, teach adults more about these smoking devices, or encourage teens not even to start vaping in the first place.

According to Catholic Charities, between its immigration and refugee services, approximately 25,000 immigrants currently reside in Allen County, representing almost 80% of the population growth for the period between 2015 and 2019. In that time, the immigration population increased by 12.6%, with over 3,000 new immigrants arriving to the county.

In today’s edition of UNSCRIPTED I’d like to share a man with you that does not get nearly the credit that he deserves regarding his contributions to the entertainment world and influencing early greats in the industry such as James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr., Gregory Hines, and even Michal Jackson.

BWE Inc is an online ministry/network that empowers millions of people on a daily basis with posts, live broadcasts, health and wellness and education. BWE Safe Haven is a non profit organization that supports homeless and struggling Veterans.
