The Voice Watch Party at Indiana Tech When: April 16, 17, 23, 24

Magee-O’Connor Theater hosted a Watch (and Voting) Party on behalf of Fort Wayne’s own Christiana Danielle and her performances for #TeamAlicia on The Voice, NBC’s singing competition. Attendees voted with their cellphones via a phone application and their Twitter account.

Some of Danielle’s family members attended (wearing Christiana Danielle-branded t-shirts), including her grandmother, Queen Ester Lyons. “I’m very proud of her,” said Lyons, who moved to Fort Wayne in 1970 from Union Town, Alabama. According to Lyons, Danielle had begun singing when she was young. The “proud” grandmother recalled how Danielle sang at Lyons’s sister funeral, when Christiana was only five.

As of April 30, 2018, Danielle has been voted through to the Top 11. Future watch parties are scheduled at Indiana Tech (Andorfer Commons, 1600 East Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46803) on Mondays and Tuesdays, for as long as she competes.
