Fort Wayne Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Awards Scholarship

Nehkai Boone is the recipient of the 2021 Sharon K. Grimes Memorial Scholarship. The Fort Wayne chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc., Iota Chi Omega, awards scholarship to a deserving young woman of African descent residing in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Boone is a nursing student at North Carolina A & T University and is a graduate of Snider High School. Nehkai dreamed of attending an HBCU for years and her dream finally became a reality when she was accepted into the Greensboro, NC-based university.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-trained women. Founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC, Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission has been to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards.
