DJ E-Clyps' Work FWMoA
See the work of celebrated photographer DJ E-Clyps and nine other local artists at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art through Oct. 10. The photographers were featured in Fort Wayne magazine's September "Best of" issue. "The photographs...capture the expansive, complex, indomitable spirit of Fort Wayne," the magazine's editors wrote for the issue. The museum is at 211 E. Healthcare Recruitment and Exploration Fair
Healthcare recruiters will meet with Ivy Tech students and alumni, as well as the community on October 29, from 9 am to 1 pm Ivy Tech's Coliseum Campus, 3800 N. NEINFAME Now Accepting Applications for Fall '22 Cohort
The Northeast Indiana Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (NEINFAME) and education partner Ivy Tech Community College have opened applications for the fall 2022 cohort. Interested students can apply at www.northeastindianafame.com. Applications will be accepted until Nov. 1, 2021.Students selected for the program will pursue a two-year associate degree in Industrial Technology at Ivy Tech while working for a NEINFAME sponsor company. Sponsor companies will provide students with a paid work experience that provides students the opportunity to graduate debt-free and begin a challenging career in just two years. The first cohort of thirteen NEINFAME students entered the program in fall 2021 and are now beginning their classwork and on-the-job training with sponsor companies.Students must complete applications before being considered for the program. Super Shot and ACPL Team Up for Flu and Covid-19 Vaccines
Super Shot is partnering with Allen County Public Library to provide flu vaccines to people 6 months of age and older, and Covid-19 vaccines to those 12 years old and older at the following locations:
Friday, October 1, 2021, 2 - 5 p.m. at the Pontiac Branch
Friday, October 8, 2021, 2 - 5 p.m. at the Shawnee Branch
Susan Baier, executive director of the Allen County Public Library, said she's leveraging her experience to make vaccines more accessible in our community. "Libraries can play a vital part in a community’s health and welfare. It makes perfect sense to leverage the assets of the library – welcoming facilities, friendly staff, trusted community connector – to partner with agencies like Super Shot to improve public health outcomes," Baier is quoted in a press release. (1 per person) Super Shot will be providing the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine and both injectable and nasal spray flu vaccines. There is no cost, but everyone must present their insurance card if insured and ID. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No appointment is needed.
Trick-or-Treating Hours Announced
Trick-or-treating in Fort Wayne will take place on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm., the Fort Wayne Police Department announced. FWPD will work with the Allen County Health Department on COVID-19 guidelines regarding safe trick-or-treating.
