“Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.” – Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah Winfrey implies that the New Year is a time to reflect on the previous year and look to the future. Looking to the future means making new resolutions for yourself so that you can do everything better and more efficiently in the New Year.
Why is it important to make New Year's resolutions and set goals for yourself? Setting goals at the beginning of the year can encourage you to make improvements in your life whether it be in your relationships, career, health, or personal development. By taking advantage of a new beginning, New Year's resolutions offer a structured opportunity for self-reflection, personal growth, and positive change. In other words, they give you an opportunity to think about your priorities and actively work towards achieving them.
If you are unsure where to start with making your New Year's resolutions, creating a Vision Board is a great way to get started! You can use your Vision Board to analyze your deepest feelings and thoughts. It helps you identify your priorities. It leaves your ideas and goals permanently in your memory.
Making a Vision Board for yourself can benefit your life in many ways. By creating a Vision Board you:
• stay motivated and focused on reaching your goals,
• increase your confidence and it motivates you to be more intentional by taking action toward your goals.
Not all goals you set will be short-term, as some will be long-term goals. Make a plan on how you will reach your goals, then write it down. Habakkuk 2:2 says: “And the Lord answered me: Write the vision, make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”
Creating a Vision Board can be a family-affair. It is an activity that my family enjoys every New Year’s Eve. Look in newspapers, magazines, etc. for words, pictures, phrases, affirmations, inspirational words that support your Vision then put them on a poster board for a visual reminder for your plans for 2025!
Start your New Year off RIGHT, WRITE! RIGHT, WRITE! 2025 is Mine!
